Digital or paperless invitations are wedding invitations or Save the Dates are sent virtually to your guests via email or text message. Essentially it is an image you send to your guests straight to their inbox, and can RSVP to your wedding in just a few clicks. They can be sent out in pdf or png formats, optimised to the size of your phone.

They are written in the same way as a physical save the date or invitation, just in a digital format. They can be one simple image or can have have further ‘pages’ if you wish to give your guests extra information regarding accommodation, taxi companies, gift lists etc.

They are becoming more and more popular as they have so many benefits.  With technology as it is, most people have a telephone or access to emails, sending your invitation digitally is much neater, quicker and eco-friendly with no waste. They also have a very modern, contemporary vibe. They do feel less formal than traditional handmade invitations but so long as they are personalised, thoughtful and give guests all of the essential details, there’s not much to dislike about them!

What are the advantages of sending your invitations digitally?

One of the many benefits of digital invitations is that they are far more cost effective. One digital copy can be sent to all of your guests. They are perfect for weddings that are traditionally much larger in scale ie Indian or Muslim weddings.

Production times are much quicker, we can usually get most designs created within 2-3 days, compared to 2-3 weeks with traditional handmade paper invitations ot save the date cards. Digital Save the Date cards are perfect to send to your guests initally, they are quick to produce and even quicker to send. They are the perfect inttoduction to your big day!

You can easily add more guest to your invitations list without having to have extra invitations made. Guests can quickly rsvp and you can easily follow-up with any questions with a few clicks.

As with traditional designs, the rest of your wedding day stationery can be made to compliment your digital design themes. And as handmade stationery is our speciality at I Do Designs, we can easily create a Welcome signs, a Table plan, or Name place cards to match.

However, as handmade stationers, we do have to say that in our opinion you can’t beat an actual invitation that you can touch and feel, it does add a touch of quality to your wedding day, plus your guests have a beautiful keepsake from your special day. Lots of companies offer digital invitations – how are we different?

Lots of companies sell a basic template that you download and then edit yourself, adding your own details. At I Do Designs we are different in a few ways. Initially we offer a fully bespoke service, we don’t have lots of templates for you to view. You are involved in the design process to ensure it is exactly what you want. We can incorporate any special colours, flowers or any design themes you wish providing you with an elegant digital wedding invitation, that you can send directly to all of your friends and family.

We have one price that covers the cost of designing your digital invitation and gives you a pdf and png copy to send via email or phone. We don’t have any limits to how many times you send this on. Many companies charge per guest, we don’t.

As we offer both traditional handmade and digital invitations, we can create the rest of your wedding day stationery to match your design. Including Orders of Service, Table Plans, Name place cards, Thank you cards etc.

We ask for a 50% deposit upon placement of an order. Our turnaround is 2-3 days, although we do advise leaving as much times as possible; if our schedule is fully booked we can’t guarantee this speed.
